Sachiko Sasaki arbeitet als Herausgeberin eines Literaturmagazins. Sie wird von ihren Kollegen aufgrund ihrer perfektionistischen Art geschätzt. Am Tag ihrer Hochzeit verschwindet jedoch ihr Freund Shungo. Was Sachiko sprachlos werden lässt.

Am darauffolgenden Tag geht sie wie sonst auch zur Arbeit, kann aber nicht damit aufhören an Shungo zu denken. Dadurch erkennt sie, dass sie durch sein Verschwinden mehr traumatisiert ist, als sie zuerst dachte. Sie beschließt daraufhin, in ein Restaurant zu gehen. Als sie ihr Essen bekommt und mit dem Verzehr beginnt, vergisst sie alle Sorgen und Gedanken an Shungo. Durch diese Erfahrung wird sie zu einem Kenner von Gourmet-Mahlzeiten.
