He never liked this name until he coincidentally meets a classmate in a similar position: Tomoya Hata …, who’s only called Hachi (8) by everyone. Based on their similar names, the two otherwise completely different boys become friends. However, one of them will soon realise he feels more than just friendship for the other …
Weil man die Kanji seines Vornamen auch als Eito lesen kann, hat Akito Tachibana seit seiner Kindheit den Spitznamen Eighto (8) an sich kleben. Gemocht hat er diesen Namen noch nie, bis er durch Zufall auf einen Mitschüler trifft, der in einer ganz ähnlichen Lage steckt: Tomoya Hata, von allen einfach nur Hachi (8) genannt. Wegen ihrer ähnlichen Namen werden die zwei, sonst eigentlich vollkommen unterschiedlichen, Jungen schließlich Freunde. Doch soll einer von beiden schon bald bemerken, dass er mehr als nur Freundschaft für den anderen empfindet.
