Renei thinks she´s going crazy. After many years, she has begun to dream about "Ku´s World" all the time, a place beneath the shadow of the mysterious Mount Babiranma which is inhabited by fantastic creatures -Nagizari, God, the little Rey, the lethal teppas- which is where her dead brother, who is going through an identity crisis, may be, as well as her best friend, who committed suicide some time ago and has now returned for her. As she muses on the sense of life, things in the real world do not seem to be going her way either and when the inhabitants of "Ku´s World" begin to reveal themselves to her and try to persuade her to go along with them, she no longer knows if her life is a dream or a nightmare. Will they find the answer to the mystery Mt. Babiranma conceals? And more importantly, will they all escape with their lives?

Renei, eine Kunststudentin, die eine Affäre mit einem ihrer Dozenten an der Uni hat, hat ein großes Problem, denn sie kann ihre Phantasien nicht von der Realität unterscheiden. Sie hält das Abgleiten in »Kus Welt«, ihre Traumwelt, für real. »Kus Welt«, von der sie zum ersten Mal in ihrer Kindheit geträumt hat, ist ein Reich, das für viele seltsame Kreaturen, Gott, ihren verstorbenen Bruder und ihren verstorbenen besten Freund eine Art Heimat darstellt. Mit der Zeit beginnt die Grenze zwischen »Kus Welt« und der realen Welt zu verschwimmen und Renei beginnt an ihrem Verstand zu zweifeln. Wird Renei sich wieder fangen oder wird sie für immer eine Geisel ihrer Traumwelt bleiben?

Renei estudia Bellas Artes en Tokio e intenta encontrar su propio estilo pintando enigmáticos lienzos. Por otra parte, mantiene una ambigua relación con Koga, su profesor de la facultad, 20 años mayor que ella. Delante del apartamento de Renei, hay un misterioso solar que le despierta misteriosos recuerdos. Debilitada por su búsqueda artística y su insatisfactoria relación con Koga, Renei sufre pesadillas y le cuesta cada vez más separar la realidad del mundo onírico, al que llama "el mundo de Ku"... Cuando Kaya, una amiga que se había suicidado, reaparece para invitarla a reunirse con ella en ese sueño, parte para descubrir ese universo paralelo que le atrae irresistiblemente.
