Shakugan no Shana (2005)

Another boring school year begins for Yuji Sakai – or so he thinks. But this time everything is different. Just as he is on his way, time is suddenly stopped and all the people around him turn into blue flames. Then a terrifying monster appears and eats the flames. Before Yuji meets the same fate, a mysterious red-haired girl appears and saves him. Yuji is drawn into a battle between these monsters and the girl. She is a so-called “Flame Haze” and is later to be named Shana. As if all this wasn’t enough, Yuji also has to face a terrible truth – he is dead and plays a more important role in this fight than he thought at the beginning.

Für Yuji Sakai beginnt wieder ein weiteres, langweiliges Schuljahr – denkt er zumindest. Doch dieses Mal ist alles anderes. Als er gerade unterwegs ist, wird plötzlich die Zeit angehalten und alle Menschen um ihn herum werden zu blauen Flammen. Danach taucht ein Furcht einflößendes Monster auf, das die Flammen frisst. Bevor Yuji das gleiche Schicksal ereilt, taucht ein mysteriöses, rothaariges Mädchen auf und rettet ihn. Yuji wird in einen Kampf zwischen diesen Monstern und dem Mädchen gezogen. Sie ist eine sogenannte »Flame Haze« und soll später den Namen Shana erhalten. Als wenn das alles nicht schon genug wäre, muss sich Yuji auch noch einer furchtbaren Wahrheit stellen – er ist tot und spielt eine wichtigere Rolle in diesem Kampf, als er am Anfang dachte.
