In ZOMBIE FAIRY, a boy named Aoto brings a coffin belonging to his grandfather to a Japanese TV show to determine its worth. Suddenly, a 400 year-old Chinese girl named Chun-Ai pops out of the coffin. In a trance-like state, she becomes violent and super-strong and trashes the studio.

After she emerges from her trance and calms down, Aoto decides he has no choice but to bring her home, where his quirky family agrees to take her in. But they soon find themselves in over their heads -- Chun-ai is quickly joined by a friend from the past, and then they find themselves in the middle of a deadly battle with a giant, raging tiger spirit.

Vor vielen Jahren hat Aotos Großvater in Honkong einen geheimnisvollen Sarg erstanden. Zwanzig Jahre später bring Aoto den Sarg in eine japanische Fernsehshow, um den Wert des Sargs zu bestimmen. Plötzlich springt ein 600 Jahre altes Mädchen namens Ai Chun-Pops aus dem Sarg und legt das ganze Studio in Schutt und Asche. Aoto bleibt daraufhin nichts anderes übrig, als das Mädchen mit zu sich und seiner eigenartigen Familie nach Hause zu nehmen. Allerdings gibt es da ein kleines Problem, denn Ai Chun wird extrem stark und gewalttätig wenn sie in einen trance-ähnlichen Zustand gerät. Mit der Zeit taucht auch noch ein alter Freund aus ihrer Vergangenheit auf und Aoto findet sich auf einmal mitten in einem Kampf auf Leben und Tod wieder.
