Questa serie ci farà conoscere la giovane studentessa Takeru Ibaraki, una ragazza che cresce in un monastero buddista e conduce una vita normale fino al giorno in cui entra in contatto con la terribile arma nota come Witchblade. Da quel giorno in poi i suoi peggiori incubi si materializzano e la sua vita cambia per sempre. Inizia così una lotta nella quale può contare solo su se stessa e sull’appoggio del suo amico di infanzia Kou Minamoto, discendente di un famoso cacciatore di spiriti.
