Drei Jahre hat Chiyo Kita mit ihrer Familie im Ausland verbracht und ist nun zurück in Japan. Am ersten Tag an ihrer alten Schule bemerkt sie, dass sich einiges verändert hat. Noch vor der ersten Stunde begegnet Chiyo der neuen, etwas merkwürdigen Sorai. Ganz offenbar hat Sorai etwas zu verheimlichen! Tras tres años viviendo en el extranjero, Chiyo vuelve a su antigua escuela en Japón. Ahora, con 16 años y en plena adolescencia, descubre que las cosas no eran exactamente como las recordaba... o como ella cree que deberían ser.
