Ein idyllischer Morgen in Hanger Wood, einer Kleinstadt im schönen England. Es ist der 16. Geburtstag von Katie Jones. Zum fünften Mal in Folge wird die beliebte Schülerin als Schulsprecherin in ihrem Amt bestätigt. Der Tag scheint perfekt... bis zu dem Augenblick, in dem Katie zur Augenzeugin eines schweren Verbrechens wird.
