»Papa no Iu Koto o Kikinasai!« erzählt die Geschichte von Yuuta Segawa, einem 19 Jahre alten Studenten, der ohne Freunde sein erstes Semester an der Tama-Universität beginnt. Doch als seine Schwester und deren Ehemann bei einem Flugzeugabsturz ums Leben kommen, darf Segawa sich ab sofort um drei kleine Kinder kümmern, Mittelschülerin Sora, Fünftklässlerin Miu und das Kindergartenkind Hina. Erschwerend kommt hinzu, dass er in einem winzigen Apartment mit nur 10 m² auf die Kinder aufpassen darf. Schon bald fühlt sich Segawa als neuer Vater für die drei Kinder. Doch werden die Kinder auch ihn akzeptieren?
