Die Geschichte handelt von einem Mann, der Matsumoto genannt wird. Doch der Name „Matsumoto“ ist nicht sein richtiger, in Wahrheit weiß er nicht wie sein richtiger Name lautet. Auch alle anderen Erinnerungen an sein früheres Leben sind überdeckt mit einer Nebelschicht. Das einzige was er noch weiß und über das er sehr detailliertes Wissen besitzt, ist Fußball. Nicht nur theoretisch, sondern auch praktisch ist er im Fußball ein Ass. Nun verkauft er sein Können und reist von Ort zu Ort, in der Hoffnung seine Erinnerungen zurück zu gewinnen.
