Der Manga erzählt die Geschichte von Kyuuki, einer starken und stolzen Fuchsdämonin, die vor kurzem erwachte und einen neuen Wirt sucht, und Kamishiro Shin, einem scheinbar normalen Oberstufenschüler, der jedoch in den Besitz des schwarzen Grimoires kommt, das Kyuukis Existenz kontrolliert.
