Als Kind besuchte Amasawa Rei das Shirohato Park-Internat. Nachdem ihre Eltern bei einem Autounfall ums Leben kamen, lebte sie in dem Internat und freundete sich mit einem Jungen an. Sie erinnert sich nicht an die Zeit im Internat, auch nicht an die Namen und Gesichter der anderen Kinder, an gar nichts. Nur an ein Geheimnis, das sie mit ebendiesem Jungen teilte. Es ist dunkler, als sie es sich vorstellen kann.

Bruchstückhaft kommen die Erinnerungen wieder, als sie an die Shirohato Akademie kommt. Hier trifft sie auch einige Kinder aus dem Internat wieder.
Was war das für ein Geheimnis, das sie mit dem Jungen teilte? Warum versucht sie, den Jungen zu finden? Warum kann sich Rei nicht wirklich an ihre Vergangenheit erinnern?
