Kyoko, eine 18-jährige Teenagerin, hat den großen Traum eine Polizeihundetrainerin zu werden. Bei ihrem Besuch auf der Polizeihundeschule trifft sie auf den jungen Labrador-Retriever Krümel. Es ist Liebe auf den ersten Blick und Kyoko beschließt, den Labrador zu trainieren. Der Ausbilder hält Krümel zwar für zu schwach, aber Kyoko kann ihn überzeugen, den Labrador doch zur Ausbildung zuzulassen. Leider fällt Krümel durch jede Prüfung, sodass selbst Kyoko ihr Vertrauen in den Labrador verliert.
