Yohei ist Lehrer an einer Mittelschule und mit Miyoko verheiratet. Nach 25 Jahren beginnen die beiden wieder das Leben für sich selbst zu entdecken, nachdem ihr Sohn geheiratet und somit das Haus der Familie verlassen hat. Eines Tages findet Yohei die Scheidungspapiere, die Miyoko verstecktgehalten hat, aber er hat nicht den Mut sie danach zu fragen und quält sich lieber über die Tatsache, dass diese Papiere existieren. Die Teilnahme, zusammen mit Schülern, am Kochunterricht, ermöglicht es Yohei das Konzept einer Idealen Familie wieder zu entdecken. So beginnt er langsam neue Schritte mit Miyoko.
