Description
Japan in the future: Due to the rapidly rising unemployment rate and the steadily shrinking respect of students for adults, the Japanese government enacts a school reform called “Battle Royale”, or “BR ACT” for short. It involves a school class killing each other on a deserted island. The last one left wins the game and gets to go back home.
A class is chosen at random to take part in such a “Battle Royale”. After the rules of the game are explained, each student receives a backpack with provisions, a map, and one of 42 different weapons. In order to make sure that the students actually follow the rules of the game, a collar filled with explosives is forcibly put on each of them. If more than one person survives within three days, these collars explode.
Shuya, Noriko and Kawada are the only ones who try to put an end to the gruesome game without violence. Will they succeed in reaching and capturing the military base on the island before they themselves become victims of one of their schoolmates?
