A story about a man that occasionally is trapped in a time loop, where he stays trapped until he figures out what is wrong and prevents tragedy. That very quickly turns into a story of a man rediscovering his traumatic past by going all the way back in time to elementary school, where he has to prevent the murder of his classmates.

It's not so much a whodunit, as that becomes fairly obvious early on, but more of a character drama around the peculiar situation. It's a captivating ride that is actually brought to conclusion in this one season.

Been putting this off for nearly a decade, since it seemed a depressing watch, which to be fair it is. But when in the mood to stomach it's a very worthwhile experience. I also went and read the manga, which supposedly had more content and a different ending. While true, it's the same basic gist. Only even more depressing, while none of the character's fates are different.
