Der Stadtmaus Ben sind die Verfolgungsjagden mit den Katzen nicht mehr aufregend genug. Sein neuestes Ziel ist der Ozean. Gemeinsam mit seinem besten Freund Willi macht er sich auf den Weg und trifft im Hafen überraschend auf auf eine große Gruppe von Schiffsmäusen. Nach anfänglichen Schwierigkeiten können die beiden Stadtmäuse sich mit den Schiffsmäusen anfreunden. Als der kleine Mäuserich Ole die Schiffsmäuse um Hilfe im Kampf gegen die von Vin Wiesel angeführte große Gruppe von Wieseln bittet, fährt ein Schreck durch die Schiffsmäuse. Die Wiesel wollen alle Mäuse auf der Mäuseinsel beseitigen. Bisher haben nur sehr wenige Mäuse eine Begegnung mit Vin Wiesel überleben können. Letztlich ist eine kleine Gruppe bestehend aus Ben und Willi, Jumbo der größten Schiffsmaus, Konrad der schlauesten Schiffsmaus, Bert der gutmütigsten Schiffsmaus sowie Tarik der Glückspielmaus bereit, sich einem gnadenlosen Kampf zu stellen …
