Synopsis

While Cal Clagg’s family is celebrating, Gray, a wolf raised by humans, kills the family’s pet dog, Bo. Gray escapes and Cal’s teenage son Lasset runs after him into the nearby woods, where they both arrive at an abandoned cabin. Lasset has raised the wolf and does not want it to be killed by his father. He, therefore, convinces his family that he will take the wolf three hundred miles north, where it can live in peace in the endless wilderness. The boy and the wolf then set out for a long and arduous journey.
