Description

After a successful military campaign, a general returns to his castle. At court, he is admired for his Herculean strength, superhuman skills with the bow and boundless bravery. During the victory celebrations, he proudly proclaims that he has crushed his enemies so that they will never dare raise their weapons against him again. Forthwith, he stops training entirely and devotes his time to celebrating and eating. But he soon realises that his once-celebrated virtues are leaving him more quickly than he would like to admit.

Nach einem erfolgreichen Schlachtzug kehrt ein General in sein Schloss zurück. An seinem Hof wird er für seine Bärenstärke, seine Künste mit Pfeil und Bogen sowie seinen Heldenmut bewundert. Bei der großen Siegesfeier verkündet er stolz, seine Feinde derart in den Boden gestampft zu haben, dass sie sich nie mehr trauen werden, sich gegen ihn aufzulehnen. Konsequent stellt er sein Training ein und widmet seine Zeit dem Feiern und dem guten Essen. Doch schnell muss er feststellen, dass ihn die Tugenden, für die er gefeiert wurde, schneller verlassen, als ihm lieb ist.
