Hiromi Maiharu ist zu Beginn des neuen Oberschuljahres von Nagasaki nach Kamakura umgezogen. Kamakura hat eine wunderschöne, bergige Landschaft mit Blick auf das Meer und den Fuji. Obwohl Hiromi schon lange nicht mehr Fahrrad gefahren ist, versucht sie an ihrem ersten Schultag mit dem Rad zur Schule zu gelangen. Auf dem Weg zur Schule trifft sie Tomoe Akizuki, die ihr beibringt, wie man richtig Fahrrad fährt. Es stellt sich heraus, dass Tomoe und Hiromi in derselben Klasse sind und dass ihr Lehrer auch ein Radfahrer ist. Nun beginnt Hiromis aufregendes Oberschulleben mit vielen neuen Freunden.
