Synopsis

Kumiko Oumae and the other members of the Kitauji school band are celebrating their first successes and want to use the summer holidays to go through a training camp with their ambitious music teacher, Noboru Taki, who seems to be able to do more than he admits due to his eventful past – because they have managed to qualify for the regional Kansai competition! With so many talented competitors, they do not want to fall behind here but are even aiming for nothing less than the gold medal. However, such a good performance will require a lot of hard work and the determination of every band member, which means a lot more practice for the musicians.

But trouble is brewing right now because the outstanding euphonium player and vice-president of the music club, Asuka Tanaka, is being pressured by her mother to leave the orchestra so that she can concentrate better on her grades. Even Taki-sensei can not change her mother’s mind, who is furious. A circumstance that arouses sad resignation and great anxiety among the other musicians. Can the orchestra win the competition without Asuka, or will it still be possible to bring Asuka back to the orchestra in time?
