Azusa, Otetsudaishimasu! (2004)

In a future scenario, robots are common means to cope with everyday life: they are used on construction sites, in the household and even in sports! “Azusa, Otetsudaishimasu!” is about the Karugamo High School baseball team, which is not doing very well at the moment – they lack players and the financial means to buy a “sports robot”. Without it, however, they hardly stand a chance against their competitors. Shunpei Harumaki is a member of the said team who one day goes out to find a baseball robot. However, since there is not enough money for a modern model, he buys the old “maid robot” Azusa instead, which is actually meant for the household and not for playing baseball. A tough job lies ahead for the team as Azusa doesn’t even know what baseball is, but in the course of training, Azusa grows closer to the team’s heart and becomes a permanent fixture. But is being a good team enough to defeat the seemingly overpowering competitors with their numerous modern sports robots, or does it take more?

In einem Zukunftsszenario sind Roboter gängige Mittel, um den Alltag zu meistern, sie werden auf Baustellen, im Haushalt und sogar im Sport benutzt! »Azusa, Otetsudaishimasu!« handelt von dem Baseball-Team der Karugamo Oberschule, dem es zur Zeit nicht sonderlich gut geht – ihnen fehlt es an Spielern und an finanziellen Mitteln, um einen »Sports Robot« kaufen zu können. Ohne diesen haben sie jedoch kaum eine Chance gegen ihre Konkurrenten. Shunpei Harumaki ist ein Mitglied des Teams, das eines Tages loszieht, um einen Baseball-Roboter aufzutreiben. Da das Geld allerdings nicht für ein modernes Modell reicht, kauft er stattdessen den alten »Dienstmädchen-Roboter« Azusa, der eigentlich für den Haushalt und nicht zum Baseballspielen gedacht ist. Ein hartes Stück Arbeit liegt vor dem Team, da Azusa nicht einmal weiß, was Baseball ist, doch im Verlauf des Trainings wächst Azusa dem Team immer weiter ans Herz und wird zu einem festen Bestandteil. Doch reicht es aus, ein gutes Team zu sein, um die übermächtig erscheinenden Konkurrenten mit ihren zahlreichen modernen Sportrobotern zu besiegen oder gehört mehr dazu?

Sinopsis:
En el futuro los equipos de béisbol pueden contar con un robot, el Instituto Karugamo, que han estado durante toda la liga en puestos de descenso, deciden comprar un robot que les ayude. No pueden pagarlo, y la protagonista, Haruhei, acababa por comprar un robot, pero que no tenía ni idea de jugar al béisbol.

Los miembros del equipo están bastante decepcionados. Aún así, enseñarle a jugar al béisbol les lleva a situaciones sorprendentes. Esta es una cálida historia de un robot de entretenimiento que siempre da lo mejor de sí mismo, y del equipo de béisbol de Karugamo.
