Die Ernteshow ist ein Konzert, bei dem alle Getreidesorten repräsentiert und vorgestellt werden, um am Ende dem Getreide mit der besten Performance den Titel ErnteStar zu verleihen. Nach der stetigen Reduzierung von Reisanbauflächen und einer zunehmend westlichen Ernährungsweise wurde Brot zum beliebtesten Getreide in Japan und so trägt der Yeast King den Titel des ErnteStars. Doch fünf überzeugte Anhänger von Reis wollen dem Vormarsch des Brotes den Kampf ansagen und haben sich auf der Kokuritsu Inaho Academy eingeschrieben, die sich eigentlich am Rande der Schließung befindet. Dort gründen sie eine Gruppe mit dem Namen Love Rice, um den Yeast King in der anstehenden Ernteshow zu schlagen und die verloren gegangene Popularität des Reises neu zu entfachen!
