Es ist der 29. November 1939 und es tobt der Zweite Weltkrieg. Nach einem Attentatsversuch auf den Führer trifft der hochrangige Nazi-Offizier Reinhard Heydrich auf den Gefangenen Karl Kraft. Diesem wird Landesverrat vorgeworfen, da er dieses Attentat vorhergesehen hatte. Jedoch bietet Reinhard ihm die Freiheit an, im Gegenzug soll Karl ihm bei der Propaganda helfen.
