Information

Synopsis

Hardly anything remains from the former splendour of Treasure Town, as nowadays it resembles a ghetto where criminal gangs fight each other. “Tekkonkinkreet” tells the story about the orphan brothers Black and White, who live in the middle of it all and who couldn’t be more different: Black is always ready for violent confrontations and even goes so far as to call Treasure Town “his town”. His younger brother White, on the other hand, seems rather retarded and lives in his own world. Nevertheless, the two stick together uncompromisingly in order to save their hometown from ruin.

However, after helping a friend, with Black beating up three members of the Yakuza in the process, they find themselves up against Snake, the head of the Kiddy Castle corporation. He plans to turn Treasure Town into a huge amusement park and doesn’t like his plans being thwarted. When this happens a few times too often, Snake sends three of his best assassins after the rebellious brothers. Soon, Black and White must give it their all to save not only their city but themselves as well.
