Ni no Kuni (2019)

The anime film “Ni no Kuni”, based on the game series of the same name, tells the story of the three childhood friends Yuu, Haru, and Kotona. Yuu is the best student at their school and secretly has feelings for Kotona, but she is already with Haru, Yuu’s best friend and the star player of the basketball club. However, when Kotona is suddenly attacked one day, Yuu and Haru intervene immediately to protect her, only to find themselves suddenly caught up in a parallel world. Thus the two arrive in the magical world “Ni no Kuni” (literally: “Second Country”), which differs from their actual world, but nevertheless seems to be connected to it.

In “Ni no Kuni” they meet Princess Asha, who looks like Kotona, and Yuu immediately feels attracted to her. But life isn’t fair and fate plays some wicked tricks: If the two friends want to save Kotona, they have to sacrifice Princess Asha—only one of them may live! Yuu wants to protect Asha, but Haru can’t and won’t give up his Kotona. What decision will Yuu and Haru make now that they are confronted with this cruel choice?

Der Anime-Film »Ni no Kuni«, der auf der gleichnamigen Spielreihe basiert, erzählt die Geschichte um die drei Kindheitsfreunde Yuu, Haru und Kotona. Yuu ist der beste Schüler an ihrer gemeinsamen Schule und hegt heimlich Gefühle für Kotona. Diese ist allerdings bereits mit Haru, Yuus bestem Freund und dem Star-Spieler des Basketballclubs, zusammen. Als Kotona jedoch eines Tages plötzlich angegriffen wird, schreiten Yuu und Haru sofort ein, um sie zu beschützen, nur um sich selbst auf einmal in einer Parallelwelt wiederzufinden. So landen die beiden in der magischen Welt »Ni no Kuni« (wörtlich: »Zweites Land«), die sich zwar von ihrer eigentlichen Welt unterscheidet, mit dieser aber dennoch verbunden zu sein scheint.

In »Ni no Kuni« treffen sie auf Prinzessin Asha, die Kotona zum Verwechseln ähnlich sieht, und Yuu fühlt sich sofort zu ihr hingezogen. Doch das Leben ist nicht fair und das Schicksal spielt so manchen bösen Streich: Wenn die beiden Freunde Kotona retten wollen, müssen sie Prinzessin Asha opfern – nur eine der beiden kann leben! Yuu möchte Asha beschützen, doch Haru kann und wird seine Kotona nicht aufgeben. Welche Entscheidung werden Yuu und Haru treffen, nun, da sie mit dieser grausamen Wahl konfrontiert sind …?

Le film anime NiNoKuni, basé sur la série de jeux du même nom, raconte l’histoire de trois amis d’enfance : Yuu, Haru et Kotona. Yuu est le meilleur élève de leur école commune et ressent secrètement des sentiments pour Kotona, mais celle-ci sort déjà avec Haru, le meilleur ami de Yuu et le joueur vedette du club de basket. Mais lorsque Kotona est soudainement attaquée, Yuu et Haru interviennent immédiatement pour la protéger, et se retrouvent dans un monde parallèle. Ils se retrouvent ainsi dans le monde magique de « Ni no Kuni » (littéralement, « Deuxième Terre »), qui est différent de leur monde actuel, mais qui semble néanmoins y être relié.

Dans « Ni no Kuni », ils rencontrent la princesse Asha, qui ressemble étrangement à Kotona, et Yuu est immédiatement attiré par elle. Mais la vie n’est pas juste, et le destin leur joue bien des tours : si les deux amis veulent sauver Kotona, ils doivent sacrifier la princesse Asha. Un seul d’entre eux peut vivre ! Yuu veut protéger Asha, mais Haru ne peut et ne veut pas abandonner sa Kotona. Quelle décision prendront Yuu et Haru maintenant qu’ils sont confrontés à ce choix cruel… ?

Il film anime «Ni no Kuni», basato sull’omonima serie di giochi, racconta la storia di tre amici d’infanzia, Yuu, Haru e Kotona. Yuu è il miglior studente della loro scuola e nutre dei sentimenti segreti per Kotona, la quale, però, è già insieme a Haru, l’amico del cuore di Yuu, nonché giocatore Star del club di pallacanestro. Quando un giorno, però, Kotona viene aggredita improvvisamente, Yuu e Haru sono subito sul posto per proteggerla, ritrovandosi tutt’ad un tratto in un mondo parallelo. I due finiscono in un mondo magico, «Ni no Kuni», (letteralmente: «secondo paese»), che, anche se si distingue dalla mondo reale, sembra essere collegato ancora con esso.

In «Ni no Kuni» incontrano Principessa Asha, che sembra quasi la sosia di Kotona, e Yuu si sente subito attratta da lei. La vita però è ingiusta e il destino fa spesso brutti scherzi: se i due amici intendono salvare Kotona devono sacrificare la principessa Astrid, solo una delle due può vivere! Yuu vorrebbe proteggere Asha, ma Haru non rinuncerà né ora né mai alla sua Kotona. Quale decisione prenderanno Yuu e Haru ora che si vedono confrontati con questa scelta crudele?
