Synopsis

According to the ancient writings of Kojiki, the god Izanagi escaped from the afterlife a long time ago. He then underwent a purification ceremony, during which three great gods, Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi and Susanoh-oh, were born. Each of them became the ruler of his own kingdom, but Susanoh-oh was dissatisfied with his kingdom and unleashed a terrible war that shook the world of humans to its foundations. It was only with difficulty that mortals were able to banish the dark god to the shadows of the underworld, where he has been waiting for his rebirth ever since.

The legend has a special meaning for Takahashi, a young boy haunted by the memories of his father, who was murdered ten years ago. Takahashi finds himself in a living nightmare when he attracts the attention of the powerful Kikuchi clan, made up of the direct descendants of Japan’s five original families. They notice the approaching rebirth of Susanoh-oh and that Takahashi has been chosen by fate to face the chaotic power of the gods. Armed with ancient knowledge and artefacts, they must work together to fight the assembled spirits of hell to save humanity.
