Synopsis

Head priest Ferdinand has noticed that the novice Myne seems to be far ahead of her age in her mental development. He is interested in the girl’s background, and so he sends the two noble envoys Eustachius and Eckhard to find out something about Myne’s earlier life. However, things develop in an unexpected direction …

In the second short story, Corinna, Otto’s wife, takes a liking to Myne’s clothes, which she wore for her baptism. She, therefore, calls Myne in, together with her mother Eva and her sister Tuuli, to find out the secrets of how the dress was made. Myne, of course, immediately senses another chance to earn some extra money.
