Youths and Golden Coffin (2018)

The inscrutable and wealthy Xiao Se sits bored in his lonely and poorly performing mountain hostel when the naive martial arts student Lei Wujie stops at the hostel on his way to Xueyue (Snow Moon City). Lei Wujie is wearing expensive clothes, but disappointingly he has little money on him and only orders a small meal. Shortly afterwards, bandits enter the hostel, and while Xiao Se wants to solve the problem peacefully, Lei Wujie is on fire to defend the hostel and dispense justice. In the end, Lei Wujie successfully puts the bandits to flight, but Xiao Se presents him with a hefty bill for the destroyed furniture. Lei Wujie can only promise to settle the account as soon as he reaches Xueyue. So, Xiao Se decides without further ado to accompany him to Xueyue.

The two set off and rest at night in an abandoned temple, where they come across Tang Lian, who is supposed to bring a valuable and equally mysterious golden coffin from Hanshui Temple to Biluo. Tang Lian has no idea what is in the coffin, but there are many people after it … and promptly, the first killers show up to get their hands on it.

Xiao Se, Lei Wujie and Tang Lian team up and continue the journey together. But in the course of another fight, the coffin’s lid pops open, and the contents are revealed, radically changing Xiao Se and Lei Wujie’s travel plans.

Der undurchschaubare und wohlhabende Xiao Se sitzt gelangweilt in seiner einsam gelegenen und schlecht laufenden Berg-Herberge, als der naive Kampfkunstschüler Lei Wujie auf seinem Weg in die Stadt Xueyue (Snow Moon City) in dieser Herberge Halt macht. Lei Wujie trägt zwar teure Kleider, aber enttäuschenderweise hat er wenig Geld bei sich und bestellt nur eine kleine Mahlzeit. Kurz danach betreten Banditen die Herberge und während Xiao Se das Problem friedlich lösen will, ist Lei Wujie Feuer und Flamme, die Herberge zu verteidigen und Gerechtigkeit walten zu lassen. Am Ende hat Lei Wujie die Banditen zwar erfolgreich in die Flucht geschlagen, doch Xiao Se präsentiert ihm eine saftige Rechnung für das zerstörte Mobiliar. Lei Wujie kann nur versprechen, die Rechnung zu begleichen, sobald er Xueyue erreicht hat – so beschließt Xiao Se kurzerhand, ihn nach Xueyue zu begleiten.

Die beiden machen sich auf den Weg und rasten Nachts in einem verlassenen Tempel, wo sie auf Tang Lian stoßen, der einen wertvollen und ebenso mysteriösen goldenen Sarg vom Hanshui Tempel nach Biluo bringen soll. Tang Lian hat keine Ahnung, was sich in dem Sarg befindet, aber es sind viele Leute hinter diesem Sarg her … und prompt tauchen auch die ersten Killer auf, um sich den Sarg unter den Nagel zu reißen.

Xiao Se, Lei Wujie und Tang Lian verbünden sich und setzen die Reise gemeinsam fort, doch im Verlauf eines weiteren Kampfes, springt der Deckel des Sarges auf und der Inhalt wird enthüllt, was zur Folge hat, dass sich die Reisepläne von Xiao Se und Lei Wujie radikal verändern.
