New Dominion Tank Police (1993)

Even in 2016, crime does not rest in New Port City, which is why the Tank Police continue to take action against it. Although Leona Ozaki recently suffered the destruction of her beloved Bonaparte tank, she now has a new one at her disposal – and it’s fancier than ever. And thus, it comes as no surprise that an entire city block is affected by the first mission.

When Mayor Weatherbie wants to enforce a ban on certain weapons in the city, this causes a great deal of annoyance at the Dai Nippon Geiken Corporation. But the ban has a good reason: this same corporation develops mobile weapons that might even make the Tank Police look old. This is exactly what happens when a series of terrorist attacks shakes the city, and the police are clearly defeated by the new weapons they use.

For Leona, the matter becomes personal because, after all, Dai Nippon Geiken Corporation also had a hand in the death of her old partner Charon. With her current partner Al, Leona begins to investigate the perpetrator behind the attack, but does the young policewoman, who, at times, causes more damage than her targets, really have the necessary tact for this mission?

Auch im Jahre 2016 ruht das Verbrechen in New Port City nicht, weswegen die Tank Police auch weiterhin dagegen vorgeht. Zwar musste Leona Ozaki vor Kurzem erst der Zerstörung ihres geliebten Panzers Bonaparte hinnehmen, aber nun steht ihr ein neues Exemplar zur Verfügung – und das ist schicker denn je. Daher überrascht es natürlich nicht, dass beim erstbesten Einsatz gleich ein ganzer Stadtblock in Mitleidenschaft gezogen wird.

Als Bürgermeisterin Weatherbie ein Verbot bestimmter Waffen in der Stadt durchsetzen will, sorgt das beim Unternehmen Dai Nippon Geiken Corporation für mächtig Verstimmung. Doch das Verbot hat einen guten Grund: Ebendieser Konzern entwickelt mobile Waffen, gegen die womöglich sogar die Tank Police alt aussähe. Genau das tritt ein, als eine Reihe von terroristischen Angriffen die Stadt erschüttert und die Polizei gegen die eingesetzten neuartigen Waffen klar unterliegt.

Für Leona wird die Angelegenheit zu einer persönlichen, denn schließlich hatte Dai Nippon Geiken Corporation auch die Finger im Spiel, als ihr alter Partner Charon ums Leben kam. Mit ihrem jetzigen Partner Al beginnt Leona, den Täter hinter den Anschlägen zu ermitteln, doch hat die junge Polizistin, die zuweilen mehr Schaden als ihre Ziele anrichtet, wirklich das nötige Fingerspitzengefühl für diesen Einsatz?
