Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut (2021)

After the end of the Second World War, the two victorious superpowers, the Federal Republic of Zirnitra in the East and the United Kingdom of Arnack in the West, divided the world between themselves. Now, they are directing their territorial ambitions towards space. Both countries compete fiercely to develop the technologies that will enable them to be the first nation to gain a foothold there.

In 1960, Gergiev, leader of the Republic of Zirnitra, announces the first manned space programme, Project Mechtat. At the same time, Lev Leps, a former astronaut candidate, is recalled to a top-secret mission. At the hidden base Laika 44, he is to oversee the Nosferatu Project – a programme whose goal is to train vampires for manned space missions. There, Lev meets Irina Luminesk, a vampire girl who is to serve as a test subject for this project. From now on, it is Lev’s job to train her and monitor her progress so that they can realise their shared dream of flying into space.

Nach dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs teilten die beiden siegreichen Supermächte, die Bundesrepublik Zirnitra im Osten und das Vereinigte Königreich Arnack im Westen, die Welt untereinander auf. Nun richten sie ihre territorialen Ambitionen in Richtung Weltraum. Beide Länder konkurrieren heftig um die Entwicklung der Technologien, die es ihnen ermöglichen sollen, dort als erste Nation Fuß zu fassen.

Im Jahr 1960 kündigt Gergiev, Anführer der Republik Zirnitra, das erste bemannte Raumfahrtprogramm, Projekt Mechtat, an. Zur selben Zeit wird Lev Leps, ein ehemaliger Astronautenkandidat, zu einer streng geheimen Mission abberufen. An dem verborgenen Stützpunkt Laika 44 soll er das Nosferatu-Projekt betreuen – ein Programm, dessen Ziel darin besteht, für bemannte Raumfahrtmissionen Vampire auszubilden. Dort trifft Lev auf Irina Luminesk, ein Vampirmädchen, das als Testperson für dieses Projekt dienen soll. Von nun an ist es Levs Aufgabe, sie zu trainieren und ihre Fortschritte zu überwachen, damit sie ihren gemeinsamen Traum, ins Weltall zu fliegen, verwirklichen können.
