Synopsis

During the late Heian era, the Taira clan (also called the Heike clan) is one of the most influential rulers in Japan. But just when they seem to have reached the zenith of their power, a strange young girl named Biwa, who can see the future with her right eye, predicts their downfall.

Taira no Shigemori, the leader’s eldest son, in turn, can see the spirits of the dead with his left eye. He places Biwa under the protection of the Taira clan, with the aim of averting the terrible future the girl has seen at any cost. But Biwa distrusts him; after all, the clan is to blame for her father’s death. Over the next few years, however, not only the fate of the Taira clan changes, but the entire country threatens to descend into chaos. Will Biwa’s cruel visions come true, or will they succeed in averting disaster?
