Blue Giant (2023)

Dai Miyamoto is an ordinary student and actually more known for his membership in the basketball club, but after a friend takes him to a jazz performance, he discovers his love for music. In the years that follow, he teaches himself how to play the tenor saxophone, and he practices every day to eventually become the best saxophone player in the world.

Even though his lonely practice on the riverbank does not necessarily elicit positive feedback at first, as his first listeners tend to find him loud and annoying afterwards, he still does not give up. In order to play in the nightclubs of Tokyo and form a professional band, he even leaves his sleepy hometown one day. With the jazz he carries around in his heart, can he now also inspire his listeners and start a successful career?

Dai Miyamoto ist ein normaler Schüler und eigentlich eher für seine Mitgliedschaft im Basketball-Club bekannt, aber nachdem er von einem Freund zu einem Jazz-Auftritt mitgenommen wird, entdeckt er seine Liebe für die Musik. In den Jahren danach bringt er sich selbst bei, wie man das Tenorsaxofon spielt und er übt jeden Tag, um irgendwann der beste Saxofonspieler der Welt zu werden.

Auch wenn sein einsames Training am Flussufer anfangs nicht unbedingt positives Feedback hervorruft, da seine ersten Zuhörer ihn danach eher als laut und störend empfinden, gibt er dennoch nicht auf. Um in den Nachtclubs von Tokio zu spielen und eine professionelle Band zu gründen, verlässt er eines Tages sogar seine verschlafene Heimatstadt. Kann er mit dem Jazz, den er im Herzen mit sich herumträgt, nun auch seine Zuhörer begeistern und eine erfolgreiche Karriere beginnen?
