Marvelous Melmo (1971)

After nine year-old Melmo loses her mother in a car accident, she is left to care for her two younger brothers, a task far beyond her age or means. However, in the midst of her grieving, Melmo is visited by the ghost of her deceased mother who gives her a bottle of miraculous candy, capable of transforming her into either an adult (blue candy) or an infant (red candy). A combination of the two can reduce her to a fetus and then change her into any animal she imagines. Drawing on a seemingly inexhaustable supply, Melmo uses her candies to solve the various problems thrown her way, aided by her younger brother Toto (who accidentally morphs into a frog in episode 7) and her cantankerous mentor, Dr Nosehairs.

Nachdem die 9-jährige Melmo ihre Mutter bei einem Autounfall verlor, muss sie ganz alleine für ihre zwei jüngeren Brüder sorgen. Diese Aufgabe fordert viel zu hohe Ansprüche für ein Mädchen in ihrem Alter. Eines Tages trifft sie den Geist ihrer Mutter und erhält von ihr eine Flasche mit Wundersüßigkeiten. Es gibt zwei Sorten: blaue Bonbon und roter Bonbon. Der blaue kann sie in eine erwachsene Person verwandeln und der rote wieder in ein Kind. Wenn sie eine Mischung aus beiden nimmt, kann sie sich in ein beliebiges Tier ihrer Vorstellung verwandeln. Und mit diesen neuen Wundersüßigkeiten löst sie nun ihre Probleme und versucht für ihre beiden Brüder zu sorgen.

Después de que la chica de 9 años, Melmo, perdiera a su madre en un accidente de coche, debe cuidar de sus dos hermanos pequeños ella sola. Esta tarea exige demasiado para una niña de su edad. Un día se encuentra con el fantasma de su madre y obtiene de ella una botella con golosinas milagrosas. Hay dos variedades: caramelos azules y caramelos rojos. El azul la puede convertir en una persona adulta y la roja otra vez en una niña. Si toma una mezcla de las dos, puede transformarse en cualquier animal de su imaginación. Y con estas golosinas milagrosas resuelve sus problemas y trata de cuidar a sus dos hermanos.
