Synopsis

Kokoro Anzai is an average Japanese middle school student who unfortunately becomes the target of a particularly mean classmate. Kokoro is so confused and embarrassed by her tormentor that she withdraws emotionally and refuses to attend school from then on.

One day, she sees her mirror light up in her room, and after touching the shimmering portals, she suddenly finds herself in a wondrous castle, which soon becomes her retreat. Six other teenagers are already waiting for her. In this mystical place, a masked girl promises them that they will be granted a wish if they find a key and use it to open the wish room. However, they only have until the end of the school year, and if they don’t leave the castle before five o’clock in the evening Japanese time, they will all be eaten. Kokoro then doesn’t return to the castle for days but steps through the portal again after summoning up all her courage.

Over time, another shocking truth finally comes to light: only those brave enough to share their backstories and problems with others will be saved.
