Having read the manga before this was even announced I have to say that it's not as good, but still watchable.

The source has the benefit of being the kind of gag manga that uses one page per chapter, while the anime has the thankless job of weaving these gags together into something that works for an entire episode. Can't help but feel that its dragged out a bit.
