My Clueless First Friend (2023)

Because primary-school pupil Akane Nishimura always looks so gloomy, her classmates call her a shinigami. They make fun of Akane and, at the same time, avoid her so as not to be “cursed” by her. Taiyou Takada, who is new to her school, can’t understand why the other children call Akane that. He thinks shinigami is a totally cool nickname! Taiyou asks her about it and wants to know more. So Akane tells him all the unpleasant things related to her nickname. But surprisingly, Taiyou becomes more and more impressed by Akane and decides to get to know her better. From then on, Taiyou brightens Akane’s dreary everyday life.

This is the story of how Akane meets her first friend – even if he is somewhat clueless.

Weil die Grundschülerin Akane Nishimura immer so ein bedrücktes Gesicht macht, wird sie von ihren Mitschülern als Shinigami bezeichnet. Diese machen sich über Akane lustig und gehen ihr gleichzeitig aus dem Weg, um ja nicht von ihr »verflucht« zu werden. Taiyou Takada, der neu auf ihre Schule gewechselt ist, kann gar nicht verstehen, warum die anderen Kinder Akane so nennen. Er findet, dass Shinigami ein total cooler Spitzname ist! Taiyou spricht sie darauf an und möchte mehr darüber wissen. So erzählt Akane ihm all die unschönen Dinge im Zusammenhang mit ihrem Spitznamen. Doch überraschenderweise zeigt sich Taiyou mehr und mehr beeindruckt von Akane und beschließt, sie besser kennenzulernen. Von da an erhellt Taiyou Akanes tristen Alltag.

Dies ist die Geschichte, wie Akane ihren ersten Freund kennenlernt – auch wenn dieser etwas ahnungslos ist.
