Information

Synopsis

Shizuma Origasa once fought in the Boshin War as a samurai of the Aizu Province against the invading troops of the Restoration Alliance. On the battlefield, he promised a dying friend that he would take good care of his fiancée, Sumie Kanomata. In the turmoil of war, however, they lost sight of each other. After Aizu’s defeat, Shizuma has managed to escape punishment and start a new life as a rickshaw driver in Tokyo. There, he continues searching for his fiancée, albeit without much success so far.

One day, he is suspected of having carried out an attack on a high-ranking politician. In order to prove his innocence, he tries to solve the case himself and comes into contact with the local police. The government is currently threatened by a far-reaching conspiracy involving the growing Moriya Yakuza clan. Shizuma joins the police force and soon uncovers some uncomfortable truths that will change his world forever.
