Synopsis

What happens when an eleven-year-old runaway meets a sluggish ghost cat – and accidentally unleashes hell?

After a fierce argument, eleven-year-old Karin is left by her father with her grandfather, a monk who lives in a remote temple in the countryside. There she meets Anzu, a huge, talking ghost cat with a penchant for naps, massages and scooters. Reluctantly, Anzu takes responsibility for the girl, who at first glance seems good – but there is more to Karin’s polite façade than she shows.

When Karin says one day that she wants to see her deceased mother again, chaos takes its course. To fulfil her wish, Anzu enters into a momentous deal – and thus sets in motion a chain of supernatural events that soon shakes not only the temple, but the entire afterlife …
