Description
It’s not easy to deal with the young boy Taro because he is not only lazy but also incredibly gluttonous and only really exerts himself to get the upper hand in wrestling with forest animals. This does not change when an old man appears and challenges Taro. When Taro wins, he is rewarded with a strong drink of a strange potion – and with it, considerable strength to take on the entire animal horde at once. But there is one drawback: in the future, he can only use these remarkable powers if he helps others.
This marks the beginning of a new chapter for Taro, as he has so far been reluctant to help others. He soon realises, however, that such deeds are not wasted time when he helps Aya, a flute-playing girl, stand up to a pushy oni. After his grandmother tells him that his mother is still alive, but thanks to a curse she has to eke out an existence as a dragon, Taro sets out on a perilous and challenging journey to find her and possibly help her.
