Pilot Candidate: Friends (2002)

In a distant future, humanity has undergone both a hopeful expansion into space and its ruthless decimation caused by factors from that very space. With their advanced technology, humans have been able to colonise other planets but are now threatened by the mysterious alien race, the Victims. Only with the help of five ultra-modern and sentient combat robots, the Ingrids, aka “Goddesses”, can humanity still defend itself against the Victims.

The chosen pilots are trained on the planet Zion at the Goddess Operator Academy, or GOA for short. In an environment full of ambition and hope for humanity, they develop not only their fighting skills but also many a rivalry – and friendship. Such is the case for Earnest Cuore, one of the best Goddess pilots of all time, and Gareas Elidd, as well as aspiring pilots Zero Enna and Hiead Gner.

In einer weit entfernten Zukunft hat die Menschheit sowohl eine hoffnungsvolle Expansion in den Weltraum als auch ihre skrupellose Dezimierung durch Faktoren aus ebenjenem durchmachen müssen. Mit ihrer hoch entwickelten Technik konnten die Menschen zwar andere Planeten besiedeln, jedoch werden sie nun von der mysteriösen außerirdischen Rasse, den Victims, bedroht. Nur mithilfe von fünf hochmodernen und empfindungsfähigen Kampfrobotern, den Ingrids alias »Göttinnen«, kann sich die Menschheit noch gegen die Victims wehren.

Die auserwählten Piloten werden auf dem Planeten Zion an der Goddess Operator Academy, kurz GOA, ausgebildet. In einem Umfeld voller Ehrgeiz und Hoffnung für die Menschheit entwickeln sie nicht nur ihre kämpferischen Fähigkeiten, sondern auch so manche Rivalität – und Freundschaft. So ist dies auch der Fall für Earnest Cuore, einer der besten Goddess-Piloten aller Zeiten, und Gareas Elidd sowie den Pilotenanwärtern Zero Enna und Hiead Gner.
