Synopsis

A lively boy named Daizaemon Kaze, who is usually just called “Dai-chan”, comes to Tokyo from his village, where he lived with various animal species after his father’s death. Now, he aims to find out more about the art of judo. So, he visits a friend of his late father in the hope of learning in his dojo and befriends Kikuko, the young daughter of the judo master, who knows a few judo tricks herself, as well as the equally talented cat Nyanko-Sensei. Although the country boy displays strange behaviour from time to time, as he is prone to tears, immediately starts dancing to music and sometimes undresses for practically no reason, he soon becomes quite popular with the people around him. While Nyanko and Kikuko teach him to become a champion one day, unexpected feelings begin to grow inside him …
