Synopsis

Attacks by demonic Oni are on the rise around Japan. If this continues, these creatures, which seem to have sprung from ancient legends, could even threaten humanity’s existence. Dr Saotome, a researcher in the field of the mysterious “Getter Rays”, has therefore begun to develop an effective weapon against the threat. But to bring this mecha, dubbed the “Getter Robo”, into the field, he first had to find the necessary pilots. The first recruit is a street fighter from Shinjuku named Ryouma Nagare, who senses a new battle. The second is a terrorist named Hayato Jin, who develops an interest in the Getter Rays. The third member of the group is the monk Benkei Musashibo, who owns a sword that once belonged to a legendary warrior. Three personalities who couldn’t be more different – and yet the only chance to save Japan. With them begins a battle that could soon extend to other times long past …
