Was zu viel ist, ist zu viel. Die eingesperrten Hühner, die tagtäglich ihrer erniedrigenden und stupiden Tätigkeit nachgehen müssen und dabei von einem herrischen Hahn kontrolliert werden, haben es gründlich satt, als eine ihrer Kameradinnen für ihre Aufsässigkeit teuer bezahlen muss. Gewaltsam gehen sie gegen die alltägliche Unterdrückung vor, setzen den Hahn kurzerhand ab und nehmen die Dinge selber in die Hand. Leider gibt es da noch den Besitzer des Betriebs, und so nimmt die Geschichte eine unschöne, aber wenig überraschende Wende.

In nicht einmal vier Minuten formuliert Osamu Tezuka so eine düstere Fabel über Unterdrücker und Unterdrückte, über den Kreislauf von Gewalt und Gegengewalt.
