Synopsis

The Pokémon Chimchar dreams of joining Wigglytuff’s Guild and becoming an explorer. However, when he wants to realise his dream one day and pays a visit to the guild, he gets into an altercation between the exploration team “Razor Wind” and the other guild members. He himself is mistaken for an intruder and takes flight. Arriving on the beach near the guild, Chimchar stumbles across a Pokémon named Piplup lying on the ground. When it comes to, it is horrified by its appearance, firmly believing that it had previously been a human. Chimchar is able to convince Piplup to form an exploration team together, so the two of them set off again for Wigglytuff’s guild. The guild master does not provide any new information about Piplup’s mysterious transformation but accepts the two as apprentices in the guild under the name “Team Poképals”. The next day, the two are assigned their first mission: Together with guild member Sunflora, the newly formed exploration team is to visit a place called Labyrinth Cave and obtain a scale of the Pokémon Gabite, which is said to have healing properties. After a visit to Treasure Town, the three Pokémon set off on their adventure …
