The man who comes into the pub looks pretty run-down, and he doesn’t really have any money either. But on his way here, he found a flyer, a precursor of crowdfunding, calling for people to invest in the recovery of a sunken treasure. So he gets drunk with other guests, falls under the table and is overcome by sleep. In a drunken stupor, he dreams of the treasure in the shipwreck and the adventures that await him in the depths of the sea. The innkeeper wakes him up because he wants to close the place now and demands the bill from him …

Der Mann, der da in die Kneipe kommt, wirkt ziemlich abgerissen und Geld hat er eigentlich auch keines. Aber auf dem Weg hierher hat er einen Handzettel gefunden, einen Vorläufer von Crowdfunding, der dazu aufruft, in die Bergung eines versunkenen Schatzes zu investieren. So besäuft er sich zusammen mit anderen Gästen, fällt betrunken unter den Tisch und wird vom Schlaf übermannt. Im Vollrausch träumt er von dem Schatz im Schiffswrack und von den Abenteuern, die ihn in der Tiefe des Meeres wohl erwarten. Da weckt ihn der Wirt, denn der will den Laden jetzt schließen, und verlangt von ihm die Zeche …
