Hotori Arashiyama is a schoolgirl and is notorious in her neighbourhood for her hot-tempered personality, which, coupled with her not particularly high intellect, leads to many bizarre events. In her spare time, she works in a maid café, which is, however, primarily a maid café in name only, and where only a few customers from the local shopping district stray in. The only regular customer is Sanada, a classmate of Hotori’s who secretly has a crush on her. A brighter future for the café only seems possible when Hotori’s friend Toshiko joins the staff. She knows how to behave like a maid but is primarily interested in being as close as possible to her crush Sanada through her new job. Together, they experience various everyday adventures spurred on by Hotori’s whims and various secret romantic interests.

Hotori Arashiyama ist Schülerin und aufgrund ihrer aufbrausenden Persönlichkeit, die gepaart mit ihrem nicht sonderlich hohem Intellekt zu so manch skurriler Aktion führt, berühmt-berüchtigt in ihrer Nachbarschaft. In ihrer Freizeit arbeitet sie in einem Maid-Café, das jedoch vor allem dem Namen nach eines ist und in das sich nur vereinzelt Kundschaft aus dem lokalen Einkaufsviertel verirrt. Einziger Stammgast ist Sanada, ein Mitschüler von Hotori, der insgeheim in sie verknallt ist. Eine hellere Zukunft für das Café scheint erst möglich, als Hotoris Freundin Toshiko zur Belegschaft stößt. Die weiß zwar, wie man sich als Maid wirklich zu benehmen hat, ist allerdings in erster Linie daran interessiert, durch ihren neuen Job ihrem Schwarm Sanada möglichst nahe zu sein. Gemeinsam erleben sie nun verschiedene Alltagsabenteuer, denen Hotoris Marotten sowie die diversen insgeheimen Romantikinteressen gehörig Schwung verleihen.
