Description

Bored with her claustrophobic underground world, Princess Patema explores the danger zones where terrifying creatures called Batmen reportedly lurk. One day she discovers a huge shaft that disappears into the darkness above and below. After an encounter there with one of the Batmen, Patema finds herself in a topsy-turvy world unlike anything she has seen before and forced to come to grips with a solitary boy, Age, who has, from her point of view, a very surprising outlook upon things.

Sie leben in unterirdischen Tunnelsystemen und tragen Schutzanzüge. Ihrer Meinung nach ist es ein glückliches und normales Leben, denn etwas anderes außer den dunklen und endlosen Tunneln kennen sie nicht. Patema, die Prinzessin der Untergrundgemeinschaft, war schon immer vom »Unbekannten« fasziniert. Egal ob gefährlich oder nicht, Patema zieht es magisch immer wieder an neue und unbekannte Orte hin. Als sie von der verbotenen »Danger Zone« hört, kann sie ihre Neugierde nicht zügeln. Doch zu ihren Ungunsten stellt sie bald fest, was »danger« bedeutet …
