Every 1000 years, the planet La Metal comes very close to Earth, and in 1999, they will even collide. La Metal is the home planet of Yayoi Yukino, the Millennial Queen. She works as a teacher at a school during the day and works part-time at the observatory. As Millennial Queen, she is supposed to prepare for the arrival of her home planet, which only thaws out and awakens its inhabitants from their “hibernation” when it approaches the sun, without regard for the Earth’s population. During her thousand-year reign, however, she grows fond of the Earthlings, and when she learns that La Metal wants to expel the Earth population from Earth, she tries to prevent this together with Hajime, Professor Amamori and many allies. Alle 1000 Jahre kommt der Planet La Metal der Erde sehr nahe. Im Jahre 1999 wird er sogar mit ihr kollidieren. La Metal ist der Heimatplanet von Yayoi Yukino, der Königin der tausend Jahre. Sie arbeitet tagsüber als Lehrerin an einer Schule und jobbt halbtags in der Sternwarte. Als Königin der tausend Jahre soll sie, ohne Rücksicht auf die Erdbevölkerung, die Ankunft ihres Heimatplaneten vorbereiten, der erst durch die Annäherung an die Sonne auftaut und die Bewohner aus ihrem »Winterschlaf« erweckt. Während ihrer tausendjährigen Herrschaft wachsen ihr aber die Erdlinge ans Herz, und als sie erfährt, dass La Metal die Erdbevölkerung von der Erde vertreiben will, versucht sie zusammen mit Hajime, Professor Amamori und vielen Verbündeten dies zu verhindern.
