Miyakawa-ke no Kuufuku (2013)

While they played only minor roles in “Lucky Star”, everything in “Miyakawa-ke no Kuufuku” revolves around the two siblings Hinata and Hikage Miyakawa. The two are a long way from prosperity, but despite all the austerity measures, Hinata regularly drives her younger sister to despair. Hinata actually has a part-time job at the doujinshi store Gamers, but there’s not much left over from her salary because most of it goes into mangas, which are already piling up in the two’s flat. But what is a nine-year-old to do? Hikage can only hope that her sister, who is more than 20 years old, will finally see reason and refrain from absurd savings measures, such as on food. However, it does not seem that this wish will be fulfilled in the near future because Hinata finds the appropriate justification even for the most bizarre issue …

Spielten sie in »Lucky Star« nur untergeordnete Rollen, so dreht sich in »Miyakawa-ke no Kuufuku« alles um die zwei Geschwister Hinata und Hikage Miyakawa. Die zwei sind vom Wohlstand denkbar weit entfernt, doch allen Sparmaßnahmen zum Trotz bringt Hinata ihre jüngere Schwester regelmäßig zur Verzweiflung. Hinata hat eigentlich einen Nebenjob im Doujinshi-Laden Gamers, doch viel bleibt vom Gehalt nicht übrig, weil das Meiste davon in Mangas wandert; im Apartment der zwei stapeln sich diese bereits. Doch was soll eine Neunjährige schon machen? Hikage kann nur hoffen, dass ihre mehr als 20 Jahre alte Schwester endlich Vernunft annimmt und von absurden Sparmaßnahmen, wie beispielsweise beim Essen, absieht. Es scheint allerdings nicht so, als würde sich dieser Wunsch in naher Zukunft erfüllen, denn Hinata findet selbst für die bizarrste Ausgabe die passende Begründung …
